We were entrusted to work on the vehicle, as we are one of the few remaining true specialists to offer workshop installations from our site in Wakefield, and as this vehicle required a workshop installation we were the natural choice. We do of course offer mobile fitting also throughout Yorkshire, as well as a collection and delivery service if required.
The customers brief was to let us recommend an audio upgrade suitable for this type of vehicle, as well as adding some much needed additions, such as flush fitting front and rear parking sensors, and a parking camera for "when the wife drove it" we were told.
We also beefed up the security but cannot include what we did in this example.
For the Audio System a mix of Hertz and Rainbow was chosen giving the best mix of quality and performance. The first jib is to replace the standard 4" dash speakers with a set of Rainbow DLC4.2 Component items which have crossovers and separate tweeters, giving a much better clarity and definition without modifying the dashboard, and these get their power from a Hertz HCP4 Digital Amplifier set up for "high pass" with the same amplifier running a 12" Rainbow subwoofer "low pass" in an enclosure mounted in the rear. The rear speakers were also upgraded with a set of Hertz 6" Coaxial units mounted into custom fabricated MDF housings, giving a much better sound. These units were driven directly from the new Pioneer AVH Z7000DAB head unit, which features among other things Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The 7" Motorised screen was also connected up to the rear parking camera making plus a set of front and rear parking sensors making maneuvering really simple.
